FUWA FUWA Soft Sculpture Show at Q Pop

Image
You knew this day would come, didn't you? The day when I would post pictures of the art show that I had pieces in just the night before... Well, the day you knew would come is come and the pictures you knew I'd post have posted. Look at them!! Oh, before I forget! If you didn't make it to the FUWA FUWA opening reception at Q Pop -- don't fret! The show will be up until July 28th. Go there to look at and buy some art!

Plush x 3 = ?

Looky here! I made three actual pieces of plush for the FUWA FUWA Soft Sculpture Show (which opened last night at Q Pop). And now I am posting the pictures of those actually made pieces of plush onto this blog. What a world! Hug Monster Myrna Bracket

Some days are lived. Others are plushed.

It is known that the human body can only take so much sewing in any given day. After several hours worth things start to get pretty weird. Fingers invariably get poked. Thoughts are thought. Decisions questioned. Inner truths truthed. But you know how it is when you have to plush a bunch for an upcoming art show. This particular show is called FUWA FUWA! And I'm not gonna kid you here, it's kind of a big deal for me. The show's a celebration of all things soft. Soft sculpture in particular, which just happens to be what I do. I am one of only a dozen or so featured artists as opposed to several dozen like most of the group shows I've participated in. If you've never been to one of my shows before this is the one to go to. The opening reception happens at Q Pop on Saturday, July 13th from 7pm-10pm. My plush and I would love to see you there. And speaking of plush... (First rate segue!) I made three pieces for this show. You may have seen Hug Monster already in

Part 1 of the epic mystery saga devoted to The Pusherman's propensity for buying meal after meal back-to-back. Why does this happen? Read here to (eventually) find out!

You have no idea what procrastination even looks like

It took me nearly two years to finish plushing this Hug Monster plush. You read that correctly (that is assuming you can actually read). This plush creature sat half-sewn in a box or a drawer or maybe a shelf for the better part of the past two years. It was only moments ago that the final stitch was sewn and the face glued on. Why did it take me so long to complete? Is it a super tricky one to plush? Did I run out of thread or something?? I don't know!! And you really shouldn't let me ask myself questions that I don't have the answers for. It's just rude.

Everything in this TRES POWER MEN is true, except for all the stuff that isn't. Read it here and try to separate the truth from the fabricated.
