Good Friend wood toys

Good Friend wood toys are the polar opposite of my previously released Bad Friend wood toys. Those were bad and these are good, you see? I made all of these using wood that I reclaimed from my house. I keep finding weird little bits of wood all over this place and they're sparking good(?) toy ideas. My toy making process involves me "finding out" what the piece of wood I'm holding actually is. Does that make sense? Turns out there are all sorts of little friends hidden in these chunks of wood! Below you can observe some work-in-progress shots of me "finding" them.

Once they've been found I have to varnish them which is the worst part of the process, because something always goes wrong every time. No bueno. But this is what these little buddies turned out looking like.

Oh! And if you're wondering why the triangle headed friend from the top of the post didn't make the group shots...it's because I decided to keep that one for myself. Is that okay? I like to display samples of my work in my studio space as a reminder that I have actually made some tiny toys that weren't completely awful. I've showed off my toy display case in a prior post. The thing is really starting to fill up! I'll only have two more open slots once I put this Good Friend in there. What happens after that??

I didn't even know this blog existed. It would be good to be able to follow you. Is that possible, to sign up for email notifications?

Hey! Blogger shut down their email subscription widget, but I've put the Followers tab back in my sidebar dropdown menu. Not sure if it sends emails or just updates you through Blogger though... :-x
